Feature

A website your staff can actually manage themselves

Template-based pages, drag-and-drop menus, rich text editing, and role-based access -- all built into your association management platform.

Your website and your member data, working together

End the disconnect between website and data. Most associations end up running their website on one platform and their membership tools on another. Content updates require a developer, the navigation is a mess, and there is no way to show different pages to different types of members. Upside AMS eliminates that disconnect by building the CMS directly into your association management system.

Template-based pages, no coding required. Our approach is template-based. Developers define the page layouts and content regions that match your brand, and from there your staff takes over. Creating a new page is as simple as choosing a template, writing your content in a rich text editor with embedded media support, and clicking publish. No code, no deployments, no waiting on a developer for routine updates.

Access controls and SEO built in. Because the CMS lives inside the same platform as your membership database, you get capabilities that standalone website builders cannot offer. Pages can be restricted by membership category or role. Content can be scheduled to appear and disappear on specific dates. And every page comes with built-in SEO fields -- title tags, meta descriptions, and Open Graph tags -- so your public-facing content is always optimized for search engines.

Stay current without technical overhead. The result is a website that stays current, stays organized, and stays under your team's control -- without adding technical overhead to your day.

Key capabilities

  • Template-based page creation -- Developers define layouts once, then staff creates unlimited pages without writing a single line of code.
  • Rich text editing with embedded media -- Write and format content with a modern editor that supports images, videos, and file attachments inline.
  • Hierarchical menu system -- Organize your navigation two to three levels deep using drag-and-drop, with changes reflected on the live site immediately.
  • Multi-layout support -- Use different page templates for different sections of your site -- landing pages, resource libraries, program overviews, and more.
  • Date-based publishing -- Schedule pages to go live and expire automatically, so time-sensitive content manages itself.
  • Role-based page access -- Restrict pages to specific membership categories, roles, or logged-in users to protect sensitive content.
  • Built-in SEO fields -- Every page includes editable title tags, meta descriptions, and Open Graph tags, plus automatic sitemap generation.
  • Page sections for structured content -- Define repeatable content blocks within a page for things like team bios, program highlights, or FAQ entries.

How it works for members

A polished site tailored to each member. Members experience a polished, professional website that feels purpose-built for their association. Public pages load quickly and are easy to navigate thanks to the hierarchical menu system. When members log in, they gain access to restricted content that is relevant to their membership category -- whether that is board documents, training materials, or program-specific resources.

Seamless navigation between site and portal. Because the CMS and the membership database share the same platform, members never encounter broken links between your website and their member portal. Navigation flows naturally from public pages into authenticated areas, and the look and feel stays consistent throughout.

Timely content that manages itself. Scheduled content means members always see timely, relevant information. When a conference registration opens or a new program launches, the pages appear automatically -- and when the deadline passes, they quietly move out of the way.

How it works for staff

Create pages from one admin interface. Staff manage the entire website from the same admin interface they use for memberships, events, and applications. To create a new page, you select a template, fill in the content regions using the rich text editor, set your SEO fields, and choose who should be able to see the page. If the content is time-sensitive, you set a start and end date and the system handles the rest.

Drag-and-drop menu management. The menu system is equally straightforward. Drag and drop menu items to rearrange your navigation, nest items under parent pages, and link to internal pages or external URLs. Changes take effect immediately, so there is no delay between updating your navigation and seeing it live.

Repeatable sections for structured content. For more structured content -- like a page that lists your board of directors or highlights multiple programs -- page sections let you define repeatable blocks that staff can add, edit, and reorder without altering the page layout. Developers set up the structure once, and your team fills in the details as often as needed.

Frequently asked questions

Can non-developers create and manage pages? +
Yes. Upside AMS uses a template-based page system where developers define the layouts and content regions once, then your staff creates and edits pages entirely through the admin interface. There is no code to write, no deployments to trigger, and no risk of breaking the site layout. Staff simply choose a template, fill in their content using a rich text editor, and publish.
How does the menu system work? +
The menu system supports two to three levels of hierarchy, so you can organize your navigation from broad top-level sections down to specific sub-pages. Staff arrange menu items using drag-and-drop in the admin panel, and changes appear on the live site immediately. You can link to internal pages, external URLs, or anchor points within a page -- all without touching code.
Can we control who sees which pages? +
Absolutely. Every page can be assigned role-based access controls. You can make pages fully public, restrict them to logged-in members, or limit visibility to specific membership categories or staff roles. This is especially useful for member-only resources, board documents, or content tied to a particular program.
Can we schedule when content goes live? +
Yes. Each page supports date-based visibility with start and end dates. You can prepare content in advance and set it to appear automatically on a specific date -- perfect for announcements, seasonal programs, or event promotions. When the end date passes, the page is removed from navigation without any manual intervention.
